Kick’n Cancer’s Ass 5D Barrel Race

We at B & D Barrel Racing understand how hard the impact of a cancer diagnosis can be on family, friends, and one’s self. In 2015, I, Devon was diagnosed with breast and overian cancer then in December of 2022, Butch was diagnosed with colon cancer. With the understanding of how devastating cancer can be, and personally the apprehension that the last thing anyone going through cancer should have to worry about is money. Deductibles, medicines, and tests cost money in a time when most are unable to work because of doctor appointments, treatments, and recovery time needed from surgeries and chemo. For the last three years we have been wanting to put on a barrel race that supports people with cancer in our barrel racing community. With that being said, we did not want to send the proceeds to a corporate, but instead support any person that enters the race with an immediate family member or themselves with cancer. Participants will be able to fill out a form to be eligible to receive a voucher to help pay for their loved ones medical expenses. Life can be hard as it is, and even harder when someone close to you has cancer. We would like to help our barrel racing friends in a way we can give back. With God’s help, this race will be ongoing.
